Want to add volume and texture to your hair? The Frederic Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing spray gel will add a little life to your locks with just a few sprays.
The messy beach look is really popular this season. You can fake the all day beach blown look by applying this spray gel to the roots and ends of your hair. For best results work the product into damp hair with your fingers, no comb or brush is needed for this effortless style. The finished look is a messy medium hold style that is still soft and lets your hair move with no sticky or crunchy feeling.
The Coiff Bouffant contains rice and jojoba proteins along with Panthenol to protect and hydrate your hair from root to tip. Panthenol will help to seal the hair cuticle providing your hair with shine and moisture.

Personally when it comes to hair I stand firm by the statement “Bigger is better.” Thick, voluptuous hair can show youthfulness and vitality, and in Snookies case… a lot of personality! Teasing your hair to the high heavens day in and day out can be very damaging. Setting up a system of products that help to thicken up the hair follicle and provide protection will ensure natural volume.
Frederic Fekkai ADVANCED Full Blown Volume Shampoo and Conditioner amplifiy each strand from root to tip with is Hair Plumping Complex for visible all day volume.
Rene Furterer Volumea Volumizing Conditioning Spray No-Rinse increases hair volume by 11% leaving your hair light and airy with no extra weight.
Lastly, Oscar Blandi Lacca Hairspray for Volume and Hold (OC032) to seal the deal. This hairspray contains the unexpected ingredient sugar cane and honey for a natural hold and gorgeous shine.

Color treated hair can be difficult to maintain. Some shampoos may strip your color, fade the intensity and leave your hair dry and frizzy. Some conditioners may be too heavy and weigh down your hair while not giving it the essential protein it needs.
I highly recommend the Alterna Caviar Anti Aging Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner Duo, I receive consistent positive feedback from every customer who has tried these two products! The Caviar Anti Aging Moisture Shampoo is a sulfate free cleanser that hydrates dry hair. The Caviar Anti Aging Moisture Conditioner provides daily nourishment for dry hair. Both can be used on fine, color treated, permed, and damaged hair to minimize the visible signs of aging and lock in color. Both are FIVE STAR customer rated products!
For very dry and damaged hair, colored hair, or hair in need of lots of TLC, I recommend Alterna TEN Hair Masque as a once a week indulgence! This masque is the perfect fusion of ten key elements from around the globe to transform any hair from ordinary to extraordinary. Another FIVE STAR customer rated product!
Fight the frizz and captivate with your color! Alterna Caviar Anti Aging products are a MUST HAVE!

As we move into the cooler weather, it’s important to make sure our hair is not left out in the cold. After the sun, wind and hot weather have taken their toll, it’s time to nourish and protect our gorgeous locks.
1. Rene Furterer Repairing After Sun Mask – This is a great mask for your hair after it has been sun baked and fried. It contains palm butter and soybeans to hydrate and nourish your post sun locks. Leave in for a few minutes once a week, and presto – instant perfection!
2. Frederic Fekkai Protein Rx Shampoo and Conditioner – This combo is a must have for the new season ahead. It will immediately repair your hair after it’s been heat styled or sun damaged. You can use the shampoo and conditioner daily or as needed, and they will help to restore moisture, strengthen the hair and protect it from future damage.
3. Oscar Blandi Olio di Jasmine Hair Serum – As the cold weather approaches our hair can get frizzy and dry. This serum will condition the hair with its blend of jasmine, almond oil, and vitamin E, without weighing your hair down. This serum gets rid of frizz, adds shine and smells wonderful!
4. Philip B Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo – This is a powerful reconstructing shampoo that will improve the condition of any hair type. It works by restoring your hair’s bounce and shine and is intensely reparative. Concentrated amounts of Vitamin B5 help strengthen and protect the hair. This is definitely worth the price, as it smells amazing and makes you feel like you are treating your hair to something magnificent.
5. Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Extra Hold Hair Spray – This hairspray has real staying power. It will hold your new Fall style all day, without that stiff and sticky feel. It is humidity resistant and will also protect your color with antioxidant-rich ingredients. A definite must for all hair types!
Be excited about the upcoming season because as colors change and styles transform, your hair will be healthy and protected. Now that your hair is ready for Fall, are you?
I’ve taken countless trips to my colorist since I was sixteen years old. In fact, she knows quite a bit more about me and my personal life than some of my good friends (when the hair shaft opens up to absorb the bleach so do the flood gates… sometimes). Having gone from ashy blonde to brown to platinum to a perfect buttery shade that I’ve kept as my signature hair color for over five years I can give true testament to how difficult it is to keep blonde hair healthy. While the brunettes and redheads of the world have nourishing color deposited into their locks the blondes get a lot of Lift! Lift! Lift! Blonde hair color and bleach, are typically developed with a high lift developer which sucks the natural pigment from the hair, oftentimes resulting in weak, brittle hair (which can result to lackluster locks and breakage). Here are my tips to keeping your blonde shining:
1. See a professional. An $8.99 box dye sounds tempting versus the $150 salon dye job, but you get what you pay for when it comes to hair. Your hair colorist will determine just how much lift and tint is needed to achieve the perfect color- box dye just isn’t as savvy as a trained professional. Besides, box dye doesn’t include a head massage, a blow out, professional styling service and a great overall experience!
2. Clean carefully. Some shampoos can strip the hair and cause blonde to become brassy, therefore it’s best to use a sufate-free shampoo. Alterna Caviar Moisture Shampoo is my personal favorite. A few times a month refresh your blonde with malva shampoo. Malva is purple, therefore a malva shampoo will be purple, and purple will help to counteract and neutralize the brassy shades to refresh and revitalize blonde hair.
3. Condition thoroughly. Ammonia in hair color tends to strip away a lot of the protective barrier that keeps the hair cuticle sealed and the hair shiny, so to avoid dull hair replenish what you’ve taken away with a good conditioner that’s made for color-treated hair. I like Neil George Intense Illuminating Conditioner because it has Indian gooseberry which helps to strengthen and repair the hair shaft and deeply moisturize the hair leaving it smooth, luxurious, and tangle free.
4. Nourish weekly. Use a hair masque or nourishing treatment oil once a week for intense repair. I’m a huge fan of Alterna products and if I could only use one hair product for the rest of my life it would be Alterna TEN Hair Masque. It’s deeply nourishing and softening, it also imparts dramatic radiance and leaves the hair softer than a baby’s. It smells amazing too.
5. Style carefully. Heat tools and low quality hair brushes can be damaging to the hair. Use a natural boar bristle brush to comb through your hair (gently!) and high quality ceramic tools to straighten or curl your hair. Use a tourmaline or ion blowdryer on a low to medium heat setting to dry your hair post-shower or bath. I’m a fan of Metropolis Technology styling tools.
I hope you find my tips helpful! Care for your tresses with love!
How do we know when our “look” is outdated? If you’ve had the same look for the last 10 or 20 years, it’s definitely time to move on! Holding on to those styles from your teens and twenties doesn’t keep you suspended in your youth. In fact it can make you look VERY outdated! It’s time to take some risks! Go down to the bookstore and take a glance at some fashion magazines (for both men and women.) Get a feel for which looks are in style that best reflect who you are and your personality.
Ladies start with a new hair cut, color and or style. If you’re not sure what to do, tell your hairstylist you’re updating your look and need some suggestions. Consider something short and sassy like a bob or pixie cut! Losing the high school hair can make you look much more sexy, sophisticated and empowered!
Gentlemen lose the bleach blond (Guy Fieri) or overly dark, dyed hair. Go for something more trimmed and clean around the sides and back and a hint of spikes on top. If you’re balding or thinning on top, the best way to go about updating your look is to go short! Shorter hair creates less contrast between the fuller and thinner areas on your scalp. Also, consider updating your sideburns, goatee and/or beard. Sometimes facial hair may be very sexy on the right guy; sometimes it can make a man look downright ridiculous. If you’re graying, a little bit of gray can be sexy but, do-it-yourself dye kits for hair and beards can end up WAY too dark and look obvious.
Buying the same old style turtle neck sweater in a different color doesn’t qualify as updating your look. You need to take some risks and try something new that you wouldn’t normally buy. Take a younger niece or nephew out with you when you go shopping. Ask them to give you their honest opinion on whether the clothes you’ve picked out are the same old same old, way too trendy, or just hip and trendy enough.
Finally is the all important skin care and make-up. Ladies (and gentlemen) if you haven’t already done so, now is the time to start considering a regular regimen of skincare products to undo any damage and aging to your skin and help prevent future damage and aging. Find a good cleanser, toner, moisturizer and SPF and use them on a regular basis! Taking better care of your skin will result in healthier more vibrant skin with less fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots, and dark circles; and less need for heavy makeup and concealers.
When choosing makeup, remember to go classic with a little bit of flair. Avoid the use of metallic’s, heavy bronzers, and glitter. These accentuate lines and wrinkles. Consult with a make-up artist and/or esthetician on designing your eyebrows and eye shadow. Eye shadow contouring and highlighting and color choice can make all the difference in whether your eyes look bright and inviting or dull and sagging.
Correctly designed eyebrows can accentuate your eyes best features and minimize flaws. The wrong eyebrow design can also send the wrong message. And gentlemen, remember the object is to “groom” your brows so you don’t have a unibrow or a couple of caterpillars on your forehead. Don’t go overboard and lose your handsome masculinity.
Keep all of these things in mind while you have fun designing the new you! Now go forward and conquer that mid life crisis!
For years I’ve felt victimized by my less than fabulous fine hair genes. My locks were always limp and lifeless. I yearned for a full voluminous mane that every starlet seems to have inherited effortlessly. But, when I delved a little deeper, I discovered some of my favorite actresses also have fine hair. Instead of surrendering to their less than lively hair predicament they have fought back and won!

Fine hair darlings Jessica Biel, Cameron Diaz, Kiera Knightley, Victoria Beckham, and Gwyneth Paltrow all showcase the right way to add style and oomph to your do!
Add Curls: To create body, add curls with hot rollers or a curling iron. Jessica Biel is famous for sporting beachy tousled waves on the red carpet.
Volumizing Products: Don’t leave the house without your volumizing products. A volumizing mousse or gel gives extra lift to your roots. Try blow drying your hair upside down for added oomph. Stray away from leave-in or heavy conditioners that weigh the hair down.
Hair Pieces: We all need a little help every now and then right?! So why not experiment with a hair piece or extensions. Kiera Knightley has mastered the art of adding volume to an updo with hair pieces.
Posh Bob: Keep it short! Victoria Beckham has revamped the classic bob and made short hair fashionable again. The posh bob works wonderfully for fine hair. The shorter you go, the fuller your locks will look. Fine long hair tends to look thin and is easily weighed down by products and over styling.
Tease It: Be a tease. Backcombing hair at the crown creates sexy volume and texture.
Blunt Cut: Don’t be afraid to be blunt. A blunt cut creates the illusion of more hair. Keep the ends the same length all around, only adding layers to frame the face. Avoid layers throughout the rest of your hair or a razor cut that makes the hair look sparse and thin. Gwyneth Paltrow’s hair is often cut blunt, making it appear thicker.
Highlights: Do blondes really have more fun? Highlights add depth and dimension to limp hair. Starlets like Cameron Diaz are famous for their fine golden locks.
Add these tricks to your hair styling repertoire and your hair will go from flat to fabulous!

Lasting, flexible and strong! The key factors a hairspray should offer. These are the qualities that Ojon’s Tunu Elastik Flexible Finishing Spray has. Recently I started using a sample I had received of this hairspray, resulting in much surprise. I can admit that over the years I have used an extensive list of different styling products in search for the perfect one. After continual use of this product I have arrived at one final conclusion, “this hairspray is AMAZING!” I found that the consistency of the spray was very lightweight (almost powdery- without the mess), it is very flexible when styling but still provides maximum hold, and leaves your hair soft with bounce. It is not sticky, it doesn’t weigh down your lovely locks, nor does it create flakiness or produce an overly shiny or greasy appearance. This product is also a natural product which is always a healthy alternative to already damaged or in need of special attention hair. Since I have had such a wonderful experience with this product, I just thought I’d recommend and extend my delight with the rest of you hair divas!
