Take the Mist-ery Out of Toners

Published on by

When skin care regimens first became popular, there was much to learn about proper skincare. Most beauty products varied from superficial to far too potent. With that poor philosophy came a misconception about toners; most were assumed to be fit only for oily skin types. Not to be mistaken for astringents, toners are excellent for obtaining a balanced pH, adequate hydration and a clear complex. Toners are not meant to strip the skin of its natural oils nor is it meant to sit on the surface of the skin. Although toners can be interrupted in many ways, toners in western skincare should be a light combination of essential oils that help penetrate the skin to lock in the healing benefits.

Here are a few of the SkinStore staffs favorite mists:

Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Water ($35 USD) A unique blend of all natural floral water from the Bitter Orange Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli WaterBlossom calms, moisturizes and freshens the skin. Excellent for the face and can even be used as a fragrance spray for body.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist ($34 USD) This paraben-free, natural spray softens the skin while providing the powerful antioxidant power of rose petals.  This product can be used by all skin types.

Jane Iredale Antioxidant Hydration Spray ($27 USD) The great smelling Green Tea extract mist not only balances skin, controls oil production and nourishes the skin but can even be used in the hair to control static or set any foundation.

Neova Balancing Toner ($32 USD) New to the market, this lightweight toner absorbs excess oils and gentle exfoliates the skin without irritation. We recommend this for oilier or combination skin types who are looking to reduce pore size and improve skin texture.
