Bold Brows for the Holidays

Published on by

The secret to any holiday look lies in the details.  Go beyond the basics to create bold, sophisticated brows with an extra pop of Bold Browsbrightness for all of your seasonal events. Every girl knows that a pencil is the fastest, easiest way to create perfectly defined brows daily. But, when putting together the perfect holiday look, making sure your brows are as perfect as your outfit. Here are some quick tips to glam up your normal brow routine.

Bold is Beautiful. Try layering Brow Powder Duo with your favorite Anastasia Beverly Hills Pencil to create a sophisticated, dramatic look that leaves a natural finish.  Anastasia loves to outline the brows with Brow Wiz, and fill in the rest of the Brows with Brow Powder Duo.

Lighten Up. Set your brows with Tinted Brow Gel to add lightness and dimension to your brows.  Adding a shade that is one shade lighter than your brows will bring subtle sheen and focus to the eye area while setting the rest of your brow color in place.

Highlight, highlight, highlight!  The holidays are all about fun and sparkle. Use Brow Duality’s matte and shimmer side to easily highlight your brow bones and entire face.  Simply add a little of the matte side from Brow Duality to the brow bone and blend for an instantly bright and lifted look.  Add the shimmer side to the corners of the eyes and your highlighted look is complete.

Remember, the most important part of creating holiday brows is to make it special.  Do something bolder and more glam than your everyday brow routine.  This is where you get to have a little fun and play up your features with color, glitter, and shimmer. Happy Holidays!

Beautiful Brows

What defines your face more than your eyebrows?! Eyebrows not only frame our eyes they also display emotion on our face. The length, color and width all play a huge role in definition of your face.brows

If you’re in need of a little brow guidance there are products to help! Stencils are a great tool that help give shape to very thin or sparse eyebrows. It’s easiest to line the eyebrows first and then fill in with the product of your choice. If you have thick brows, then you may be able to just fill in any areas needed without lining the brow shape. I recommend looking at the Anastasia product line for different brow tools depending on your specific needs. If you are going to use a brow pen or pencil you will want to use it in light handed, short wispy motions. If you are using a gel, mousse, or powder you can use it more liberally as it applies lighter, but still in the same short wispy motions. The following video using Anastasia products will better display how to bring those eyebrows to life! Enjoy! Click here to view.

5 Minute Bold Brows

Published on by

Bold BrowBold, perfectly defined brows are simple and easy if you have the right tools.  Even when you don’t have time to put any other makeup on, perfectly defined brows will pull any look together in an instant.

At Anastasia Beverly Hills, our beauty must-haves include 3 best-sellers that we couldn’t live without.  Brow Wiz, Brow Duality, and Clear Brow Gel.

Here’s how to achieve bold brows in five minutes (or less) and transform the look of your entire face, complete with some tips from brow expert, Anastasia Soare.

Step One:

Use Brow Wiz to gently outline your ideal brow shape.  Then, fill in your brow with tiny, hair like strokes with its ultra-slim mechanical tip.  Blend with the attached spooley brush for a natural finish.

Anastsia’s Tip:

“Make sure to create clean lines on the top and bottom of the brows when outlining your ideal brow shape with Brow Wiz.  This is my favorite pencil because you can create a perfectly precise brow that still looks natural once you blend.”

Step Two:

Use Brow Duality to highlight the brow bone and corners of the eyes.  Anastasia’s favorite trick to use on celebrities is to apply the shimmer side of Brow Duality to the brow bone from the middle of the brow to the end of the tail and blend.  Then, she applies the matte side of the Brow Duality over the same spot and blends for a soft, luminous look that gives the eye an instant lift.

Finish up by using the shimmer side on the corners of the eyes for a gorgeous finish.

Step Three:

Set your brows and brow color in place all day with Clear Brow Gel in short upward strokes.  It will set and condition your bold brows all day without flaking.

Easy-To-Follow Evening Skin Care Regimen

Published on by

Skincare can be so confusing and at times downright overwhelming. With cleansers, serums, creams, exfoliants and treatments how is anyone supposed to keep their head from spinning? And let’s be honest the older we get the more products we need. Here is an easy to follow evening regimen so you can get the most from your skincare products and best results for your skin.

Step 1. First Cleanse

Your initial cleanse is to remove dirt and makeup from your skin. If you have multiple cleansers, I would choose a milky or oil cleanser for this first step. These remove makeup and debris best.

Step 2. Second Cleanse

Yes, two cleanses! Think about when you get a facial how they always take the time to thoroughly clean your skin, you should do the same at home. The first cleanse is to remove the day, the second cleanse is to clean your skin. This is the time you would use your Clairsonic cleansing brush if you have one.

Step 3. Tone

After cleansing apply your toner. Some skincare lines do not require a toner since their products are already pH balanced. However, toners are a great way to refresh and add some extra nutrients into the skin.

Step 4. Exfoliate

Depending on the exfoliator you use you will either do this step every night or as little as once per week. Check the directions on the recommended use. If you are not currently using an exfoliant this is not a step to be overlooked. Even if you have dry skin, all of your skincare products will work more effectively if you don’t have a dry layer of skin blocking them from penetrating. Exfoliating improves cell turn over, reduces pore appearance and promotes healthy looking skin.

Step 5. Serums

This is the most confusing step for most. The rule of thumb is to apply your serums thinnest first working your way up to the thickest. With most skincare lines they ask that you allow the serum to dry, about 30 seconds, before layering the next serum.

Step 6. Moisturizer/Treatment

Most night creams are also treatments. Night creams now do more than just moisturize, many have anti-aging treatments to prevent fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation.

Step 7. Eye Cream

This is your final step. If you are like me and use multiple eye products use the same rule of thumb by applying thinnest to thickest.

10 minutes later you are finally ready for bed. Now let all that goodness soak into your skin and wakeup beautiful!

Quick Tip: No More Shine!

Tatcha Original Aburatorigami Japanese Beauty Blotting PapersIn these warmer months you may feel like the oil production in your skin is increasing at a rapid rate.  If you’re constantly having to remove excess oil throughout the day with a napkin, paper towel, toilet paper etc. you may be disturbing your makeup and taking hydration from the skin that it needs.  I highly recommend throwing a pack of the TATCHA Japanese Beauty Blotting Papers in your purse and no more unneeded trips to the bathroom!

These handmade papers were used by gold craftsman to protect the precious metal they hammered to enrobe the majestic pavilions in Imperial Japan. Their gold-leaf artistry transformed the paper into aburatorigami, a very soft, strong and absorbent leaflet.

Today, this technology has been used in these papers and has created an amazing blotting product that will remove excess oil without removing makeup, stripping the skin or causing irritation. The formula is free of fragrance, powders, pulp and can be used by any skin type. For a petal fresh complexion, gently pat a single leaflet of TATCHA Aburatorigami on the face anywhere there is excess oil.  Use both sides of each sheet and discard afterwards.

Quick Tip: The Modern Day Tooth Fairy

Published on by

I’ve had three cups of black coffee this morning. I’m wide awake but my newly-bleached teeth are not so pearly white anymore. Stained, lackluster teeth are not in this season. Coffee breath isn’t very sexy, either. But I have no toothbrush, and I haven’t got mouthwash. I won’t smack my gum in the morning meeting with the boss. I will, however, call on the little tooth fairy that I hide in my drawer. Amidst the candies, business cards, paper clips, hides a box of GoSMILE Touch Up’s. These portable, single-dose ampoules work like a mid-day brush, specifically targeting the bacteria that cause bad breath and refreshing the entire mouth, these ampoules to help polish teeth after and between whitenings so teeth stay lustrous and pretty! And these handy dandy touch ups come in a wide array of flavors. Fresh Mint is a classic staple. Watermelon Mint is yummy and sweet, and Green Apple is tangy and sour. White teeth for everyone! Hoorah!
